Becki Newton

The birthplace of Becki Newton was New Haven, Connecticut, Becki Newton grew up within Guilford, Connecticut. Her parents are of English and Czech heritage. Her first stage appearances were at local theaters. In European History. Newton became a member of to the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority at Penn. Newton was transferred into New York City after graduation and started work on television commercials, including for Olive Garden. Newton played the role of Amanda Tanen on the comedy-drama Ugly Betty series from 2006 until 2010. With co-star Michael Urie, Newton co-hosted the"Official Ugly Betty" Podcast. She was also a part of ABC.com's Mode After Hours webisode series. Ugly Betty ended in 2010 after 4 seasons of great success and a chance to get an end-of-series. Newton was a guest at the New York City Center's Encores at the end of 2009. Jerry Zaks was the director of this Gershwin production called Girl Crazy. She played Molly Gray and performed opposite real-life husband Chris Diamantopoulos. Newton played a prominent role in Love Bites, a television show. Cindy Chupack was the executive producer of Love Bites, a romantic comedic show. Cindy Chupack worked with Sex and the City. NBC took the show on at the end of May in 2010 however, due to Newton's pregnancy announcement, Jordana Spiro's commitment to contractually to remain in My Boys, which was delayed, and Chupack wanting to leave Love Bites, the premiere was pushed to midseason.
